We can help the People of Haiti
January 14, 2010
Hey everyone,
I’m sure you have all heard and seen the terrible tragedy that has happened in Haiti. A 7.0 Earthquake struck Haiti on Tuesday afternoon and as many as 3 million people have been affected by this massive disaster. Hundreds of thousands are feared dead. My heart goes out to those who lost their lives and those who lost their loved ones. As well as the millions that survived but now face severely dangerous and scary situations and need our help. WE can help people. I know many think that their help won’t make a difference. But if everyone thought that way then nothing would happen! It DOES make a difference. Any amount of money that you can donate helps! Or maybe you can donate clothes for those who have lost everything. Or you could donate blood so that doctors can save lives. Any way that you can help is one more piece of hope. We are all citizens of the earth. The victims of the Earthquake have lost everything we take for granted. Their homes, clothes, food, clean water. And it will take a long time for them to recover. The more people that donate, the longer these amazing organizations like the Red Cross, Unicef and Doctors without Borders can help. I have donated and will be keeping the people of Haiti in my heart.
Ways we can help:
Red Cross—->People can make an unrestricted donation to the International Response Fund at www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767). The public can also help by texting “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross
